Blaugust 2026

I will try to participate in Blaugust of this year. The reason I say "try to" is because I've only written 2 blog posts ever and both are really short.
Not to mention that I'm already coming in late because I forgot about the whole thing as I was distracted by Art Fight...
Anyway, if I see any prompts I like I might use them, but if not then I will simply share whatever comes to mind. I'll probably mostly publish stuff I already wrote down earlier in my notes, of which I could make a whole post. If anyone actually ends up reading this (or any of the others), please email me your thoughts (or send a webmention), I will be very happy to hear them!
So this will be the first post in the series.
Why did I decide to do Blaugust this year?
I saw it in the Recurring Creative Challenges list by Stefan Bohacek and added it to my calendar...
but that's not the whole story of course.
The first ever creative challenge I tried doing was Inktober (which I will also attempt this year), in 2023 I think,
but that didn't really go so well because I couldn't think of anything to draw for the prompts that were given.
In any case, I've known of these creative challenges for a while now and I have wanted to participate in them for all that time,
and with me discovering that list I suddenly got excited to try them again, so here we are.
The first one was Art Fight, the second one is Blaugust.
I do realise that I could do these creative challenges at any time using prompts from previous years, but it's more fun to do them when everyone else is also doing them!
This is a great opportunity to actually start blogging! I will try to post every day of the month, possibly extending into September because of the missed days, but I might also forget about it and quit after a few days, so we'll have to see.
(might do a post just about those creative challenges as I've written down quite a few of them in my notes...)
