Minecraft Golden Age hot take (Blaugust2026/6)

Hot takes? you want hot take? Ok then...

In my opinion, it shouldn't even be called the "golden age" because what is/was and isn't/wasn't the "best" time in Minecraft's history is highly debatable and changes from one person to the next. I personally think around 2014 to 2018 was a golden age.

The term "golden age" was created by people who hated the changes in the Adventure Update such as the End, potions, enchanting, etc. Release 1.0 marked a big change in Minecraft's history and culture, but by no means does it mean everything got worse somehow.

Only very few people are actually nostalgic for Alpha and Beta versions (and very early Release), a lot of content in the "golden age" community is just nostalgia bait and anemoia.

Alpha and Beta were riddled with bugs, they were just everywhere... jittery movement, world generation issues, chunk (and world) corruption, (ok yeah some of them like the Monoliths and Far Lands were/are desirable, but still), and a lot more.

I don't have anything against those versions, just the words people utter.
